Thank you all for your feedback thus far. Quick update to let you know that we’ve just released a new update that lets you set a different “Undo Send” delay for each message type as well as the type of composer (window/popup/inline). Missive Chat now defaults to no delay.
Also, for all messages that are not emails and have no Undo Send delay, the default action in the composer will be “Send” even if you have “Send & Archive” or “Send & Close” enabled in your settings. A lot of people said it wasn’t very likely to consider a chat as closed/archived when replying since there are often many quick messages.
We’ve been testing it for the last few hours and it feels pretty good this way, we hope you like it.

Etienne Lemay: Fantastic work on the quick improvements! Feels like we're going to love Missive Chat a little more every week 🙌

Etienne Lemay: Hi Etienne, I have a couple ideas and questions for chat.
1) Can you send a message to client's email, if he is already offline?
2) Is there a way to see, if a message has been read?
3) How can I translate You in chat window?
4) Can you auto assign chat, when it has been answered by a team member?

Missive Chat is finally here! 💬
Check all the currently available features related to Missive Chat here: https://missiveapp.com/features/missive-chat
As advertised Missive Chat doesn’t require a paid plan, but it does require a Twilio account. Fees can be applied on your Twilio account depending on your monthly active chat users and everyone gets 200 active users per month for free.

Etienne Lemay: Woah congrats and amazing to have this inside Missive, we can wave Intercom goodbye!
Some initial thoughts/feedback;
- Inside missive, the 'undo send' delay (which I have at 30s) conflicts a bit with the instant character of chat. Even worse, the timeline of messages is different for the visitor than for me (different order of messages because it was actually send after a reply from the user)
- Inside chat: I would like it if the visitor could see who they are chatting with, right now there's no name or avatar of the person in the team responding.
- I would love to pay Missive directly with some big markup instead of relying on Twilllio for this.
Thanks,
Robert

Robert van Hoesel:
1) We plan to offer this in the next update.
2) Will eventually be possible.
3) No plan for this, having no infrastructure and not being tied to the end user usage; let's us offer this on the free plan too... which we like. :)

Etienne Lemay: OMG - Huge news...Well done all. I'm always impressed with your progression and continous upgrades and feature adds. Great work.

Etienne Lemay: Quick question. We run two sites with different branding. If we want to use Missive chat on both sites with different chat branding & configurations do we need two Twilio accounts and add the Missive chat integration twice? Thanks in advanced.
Philippe Lehoux
Matt Edbrooke: You can use only one Twilio Account. In Missive you simply have to create two different Missive Chat accounts, both can use the same Twilio credentials.
Matt Edbrooke
Philippe Lehoux: Amazing...that will work perfectly. Thanks for your rapid repsonse.

Matt Edbrooke: Do share your chat website links (via email) when they are live, so we can go and say hello! :)

Etienne Lemay: Amazing guys, very slick!
I'll bluntly share some initial thoughts as well (you probably already have most of these on your roadmap, but hey, you never know)
1) DONE
2) More (free) fields for the initial lead collection. With our current chat provider, we currently also ask for the visitor's phone number (with sms verification thru Twilio before they can chat), whether they've booked before and which department they would like to speak to so the conversation gets labeled with 'General info', 'Bookings', Invoicing etc.
3) Automatic chat triggers on certain events (user is has been on same page for X seconds).
4) User details such as Referrer URL, IP based location, OS / Device and Browser.
5) User's session flow (i.e. the current and/or most recent 10 pages visited)
6) Remove branding (we'll gladly move from Starter to Productive if that will remove the branding).
But of course all in due time. If you prefer me/us to provide such points of input via a separate Canny post, let us know.
EDIT: 7) DONE
EDIT: 8) Multilingual (or at least bi-lingual) widget based on user's browser language.
Keep up the amazing work guys! Looking forward to an awesome 4th year of Missiveness 🤘
Les
9) Visibility on user's (visitor's) status. Currently, we can't see whether he's still on the website or has left mid-converstion, making it impossible to know whether or not to take him seriously and/or stay available to continue the conversation.

This is coming soon. :) As hinted in our special coding retreat blog post: https://missiveapp.com/blog/special-retreat-river
We took an interesting approach; the Missive Chat will be available on all plans (free, starter, and productive) with no added cost, but it will be powered by Twilio Chat.
You will need your own Twilio account to use Missive Chat.
There are two advantages to this approach:
- You will pay per usage directly to Twilio (really low for most users).
- It lets us offer it on all plans with no surcharge.
For both you and your users, Twilio won't be visible, it is just the backend.

This would be awesome, I am having several issues integrating Messenger on my website. I would definitely prefer to use a native Missive chat integration than Messenger.
