Create rule based on current email

It would be nice to be able to right-click an email (or select the contextual menu) and create a rule based on a current email (like I can do in Gmail). For example, to be able to right-click an email and set all future emails like that (from that person, with that subject, etc.) to go to me.

Latest release added an option to create and pre-fill a rule based on a message. Works with email, SMS, WhatsApp, etc.
You can also edit existing rules and the data from the selected conversation will be available in the rule editor.

Completely agree. As it stands, it's too much work to create a simple rule based on an email we received.

For me, the most annoying thing with rule creation is the fact, that the rule-popup hides the email. I always end up taking a screenshot of the email before opening the Rule-settings.
Would be great, if the rule-settings were already populated with the current email details OR if we could somehow view the inbox while creating a new rule (drag the popup, or create the rule from the sidebar, etc)

Even better would be if you dragged an email from the imbibe in to a label if it asked if you wanted to create a rule

Quick access to the email rules editor

Have a quick access to the email rule editor where email automation is done (like labeling, moving email in folder...). Quick can be done similar to Gmail and also with keyboard shortcut.
I use the rule editor to automatically label some emails. When I notice a rule has missed an email that should have been labeled, I find it tedious to get to the rule editor.

I'd like to have a dropdown that would be "Add to Rule" on emails. I have set up many rules such as "Retail offers" and rather than having to copy the email address, go to settings, then rules, the option would bring up my rules list and let me choose one. The email address would automatically be added to the conditions.

I have recently started using Missive for my Gmail account. I want to label my messages according to their content (I have articles, news, SO issues I track etc). It would be very helpful if I could do that directly from the e-mail actions (i.e. the "Filter messages like this" option in Gmail) instead of copying the sender and then going to the filters window.

100% Agree. I'd use rules much more often, if there was button available to open the rules editor while reading emails.
Ideally something like "Add Rule from Email" which prefills the rule config with "Subject equals [email subject]" and "Sender equals [email sender]" or something. Hitting a X to delete this is 1 click but having to add it is 2x copy paste plus at least 6+ clicks with the current UX.

Good point, in the meantime you can type cmd + e, then type "rul..." It will be a bit faster.
