Take a look at Unibox where sort by sender is done right. Spike copied Unibox but Unibox still does it better!

The ability to order email views by sender, date, etc. would be really welcome. For example, I use this a lot in other email apps when I'm filing expenses.

This is the sole reason I still use Spike for some of my email tasks.
Simply searching by sender doesn't help in this use case because we may not know who all the senders are or have an idea of who the most egregious senders are.
Being able to "sort by from" would be a great addition as it would allow us to quickly scan through our various inboxes and see who all had actually sent us emails.
Even better would be "group by from" option where we could group by sender and then sort by number of emails received by sender.
