This is always a great feature.

I truly miss being able to sort by just clicking on the headings (especially sender). If you search that person, then you get every email they are in and that is not helpful. This is a basic feature that is not realized how useful until you no longer have it. I truly miss my Toolbar also. Everything available with just a click.

We need to sort by sender, too. This would help us clean up the inbox faster. My workaround for this was to search for each sender from the "All conversations" link in the email header. I then saved these searches to the sidebar and manually organized them into sections. I then was able to triage based on only those senders. It makes me miss Outlook where you can sort and group-by, expand and collapse. But, wouldn't it be cool if you could also manually sort them?

Yes please! One of the things that really annoys me about Google - and makes me resort to using Mail app on Mac sometimes.

Take a look at Unibox where sort by sender is done right. Spike copied Unibox but Unibox still does it better!

The ability to order email views by sender, date, etc. would be really welcome. For example, I use this a lot in other email apps when I'm filing expenses.

Really useful when you've come back from holiday!
