I'm encountering a situation where I would like to use slack and missive together. 
Overview:
We use slack for team communication in channels devoted to specific projects. We don't pay for slack and like the 90-day retention policy. Tasks assigned, lists created, etc. need to go into other tools
We use missive to communicate around specific emails. Again, tasks need to get put in other tools (which is why I love the asana integration, easy to have context in asana to go back to). It's also great to be able to have the chat context show up later (sometimes months later) when we get a reply.
There is clearly some overlap here and it can be confusing to know when to use which tool.
Today, a contractor requested payment on a number of invoices (spread across projects). One of those specific projects had some related material delivery issues I wanted to update the team on. 
It would have been great to mention the PM "Contractor is requesting payment, please confirm work is complete on all projects, OK to pay." as is our pattern for seeking approval within the email context. 
At the same time I would love to be able to post /slack #project-1 Contractor is requesting payment, the extra work they are doing depends on materials arriving. Just confirmed ETA from Meyda is 12/24. @PM schedule for new year at your convenience!
Bonus points: Auto post to slack channels that are setup as tags for that email (this could become a problem obviously)

When someone is @mentioned in Missive then allow me to bump them on Slack - some of our team don't live in Missive (like our Engineers) so we would like to let them know in Slack.

I just want to get an alert in slack when something is assigned to me in Missive. That and a "mark all as read" function.

Robert Hafner: this! I appreciate all the other requests but this feels like a simple integration that should exist. We use Slack for team comms.
