I see this is still open... as of 2019.... any chance of movement on this yet? A unique sound option for desktop as well as mobile?

It would be awesome to add custom alert sound when receving an email or a comment!

In addition to this, I would also suggest different sounds for different types of alert (both on mobile as on desktop), for example a softer, more minimalistic sound for read notifications than for new emails, and another different one for snoozed emails 'waking up' (although I believe this is already the case in iOS)

SECRET AGENTS 🌐: totally agree. As it is now there is only one tone on iOS and iPad OS and that is the stock Tri Tone. I requested a change to that forever ago and it isn’t on the road map yet I was told. Hopefully someday!
