Drag attachments from Missive into another program
Denny Cave
Most email apps I've used me to drag and drop files from the app straight into another app or website. So I'd expect a file can be pulled from Missive, for example, and dropped straight into an upload prompt on Dropbox or WordPress website.
In the current version, however, drag and drop only works from Missive to Finder. Drag it anywhere else and the other app doesn't recognize that I'm trying to drop a file on it. So I have to drag from Missive to Finder, then grab and drag from Finder to the app I need the file in, then go back and delete the app out of Finder because I didn't really need it there in the first place.
Would love to eliminate all of those extra steps :D

This app is great except for this. This feature needs to be addressed as a priority. But I can see many have asked and nothing has happened. Can't see the chances of anything changing. Will not be renewing without this being fixed.

I don’t know why this isn’t a feature. Creating junk file temporary and then delete it eliminates the whole purpose of this app which is to save time for users. This issue caused us tremendous meaningless time wasted. Please address asap

+1 on this. We are very reliant on being able to drag and drop attachments to another system.

Hi everyone! I wanted to provide a bit of context towards this feature request and why it hasn't been addressed yet.
Unfortunately, resolving this issue is a bit more complex than it appears. The main challenge lies in the fact that Missive stores all conversations and emails on the cloud. This cloud storage enables Missive's collaborative features, such as working together on a draft or sending chat comments within email threads.
Since everything is stored on the cloud, nothing is saved locally on your machine, including attachments. Therefore, attachments need to be downloaded from the cloud before they can be moved out of Missive's interface to Chrome or any other software. Currently, it is true that the only exception that allows attachments to be dragged outside of Missive without first downloading them is MacOS' Finder.
I hope this clarifies why dragging attachments isn't as straightforward as it might seem. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@missiveapp.com. Thanks!

Phil Langlois would there be a way to add a local folder on device in the users library to allow for local storage of files while also still retaining them in the cloud for other devices?
Phil Langlois
Kyle Pendley: not possible, sorry! 😕

Phil Langlois this is a bit strange . We understand if the files are on cloud it cannot be dragged . But clearly after it’s been downloaded it’s till cannot be dragged out is beyond common sense. If an attachment will on cloud it’s indicated with a download button , but then after it has been downloaded it should be able to be dragged out of the email app.

Hello. Nous travaillons avec beaucoup de pièces jointes, cette option est plus que nécessaire pour nous. Nous perdons présentement beaucoup de temps.
