search as good as google inbox. I often cannot find emails in Missive that I can find in Google Inbox.
Was noticing search is pretty bad, no basic operators like from and to, etc
I love missive but the search function is weak. Recent items containing the exact same search term do not show despite clearing filters and trying numerous times. This area is definitely a big weakness.
Would love sub-string search. For example, if the subject containts "QT-018679" then searching for "18679" will find that particular email or conversation. I think this would solve a ton of dissatisfaction around search.
i have the same issue, always the search of missive is lacking in results
@Fady El Desokey: ditto
Same here. If I search for a word of the email body, I often get no result
The search function as per below link does not work and we cannot even find a specific word. Is there another way of searching i.e similar to outlook? Thanks in advance
@nick strovolidis: The Gmail search syntax I linked above is only supported for Gmail accounts, not for Office accounts.
One important note: for Office search to be faster and always searching across all folders at once, you must make sure that Microsoft profiles have been connected for all your Office 365 accounts. Here’s where to do so:
@Rafael Masson: Have tried above but no luck. Is there an alternative way of searching across all folder?
one more thing please. Is there a way to search for specific words on the text of the email?
@nick strovolidis: If search seems to match From / To / Subject but not words in the body of your emails, this would also be fixed by connecting Microsoft profiles. I can see in our system that your organization owner has two accounts that weren’t connected to their Microsoft profile. Only the owner can do so. I will email you shortly to tell you which email accounts need this fix.
Same with Exchange WebApp. Their search results are far more efficient than missive.
For Gmail users, Missive search results should be very similar to the ones on Gmail / Google Inbox. Also, Missive supports all the Gmail search operators: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7190?hl=en
I invite you to email email@example.com and give us a specific example of an email you can find on Gmail but cannot find on Missive.
@Rafael Masson: this is an interesting one. I regularly can't find things in Missive, then type the exact same search into Gmail and the emails pop up. It's also frustrating having search results limited to 50 as sometime the email I am looking for is a long way back - and I can't even remember who sent it or when - Gmail is definitely better for this! I will start sharing examples when I come across them :)
@Rafael Masson - just coming back to this. I know you have previously said that serach should work the same as Google, however my team are still constantly complaining that they can't find messages easily and we end up having to go to Gmail to find them - which is time consuming and also a breach of our process. I think the key think is that we need a search "wizard" rather then relying on users to know and remember the various search operators, I think a drop down advanced search where we can search by subject, body content, sender, date, contents, attachments etc .
Also, archived conversation threads do not show up in search results, meaning that once a conversation is closed, it's almost impossible to ever find again!
@Steph Middleton-Foster: Hi Stephanie. Sorry for the issues you are having. It would be best to email firstname.lastname@example.org with specific examples (links to Missive conversations) where your team members are having issues with search. We’ll be able to better assist this way. Thank you.
Ok, so the search operators work to search emails in missive, but it doesn't appear to search for chats. For example, I searched:
The results showed a few emails, a couple of which had chats started in it, and included the word "service". Then, I did the following search:
No results, because the word service was not in the email; it was only in the chat.
Is there a way to use these connectors to search chats?
