I was also wanting to see this functionality but I believe a solution which addresses nearly everything that I was looking for with this functionality ..... importantly I believe Missive is an important part of that solution.
So I am using the fantastic integration that Missive has built with asana to be able to see all my emails with large tasks (anything that is a quick check I leave in Missive with the inbuilt task and scrub it once a day). If I dont need to add the task to a specific project I just send it to a Project I have created called "Missive Email Management". (Note: I would like to see Assigned to set to default to me but the Missive developers have deprioritised that for now - a few tweaks like that and the integration between Missive and Asana would be even better)
Within Asana I then review the all Tasks everyday and then use Rediapps to sync without issue into my calendar of choice - for me it is Outlook but the sync works with Google calendar too. It is a flawless two way sync meaning I can move the appointments around in my calendar and they will update back to Asana and back to Missive.
Outlook and Google calendar are very flexible with lots of availability to categorise, zoom in, zoom out etc and so this solution gives me the best email client (works on all my devices and operating systems in the same way) with the a flexible multi-homing project / task tool ie asana (which also works on all devices) and all the power of a fully developed calendar that also works on all devices.
I have been searching for this Nirvana for 10 years - thank you Missive!
So whilst I still have to manage invites outside of Missive everything else works. I have setup a rule for all appointment related emails to go to a particular folder so they dont clog up my Missive infeeds. I can then either deal with them from the folder in Outlook once a day or look at them in calendar once a day (my preference).
If you use asana definitely check out rediapp sync (Maggie is amazing at getting you setup) and if you dont use asana then perhaps consider it.

A simple sidebar view of my cal would be a great start. Right now I get a cal invite in email, log into gmai through a browser, accep the invite. What a drag. It would be super nice to at the very least see the days genda in the sidebar. Better to be able to accept invites there as well.
An expanded month view is good but the above would be a great start.
And, maybe this is getting into totally different feature sets but....
draging an email to a time slot in the missive sidebar to assign a due date. Hmmm... would have to think through that a bit more.
