One click unsubscribe

We’ve added a one-click unsubscribe button to messages sent to a mailing list. Note that only future incoming emails can have this button, not previously received ones. Also only mailing lists that supports being unsubscribed via mailto (which most services support).
An option has also been added to email context menu options, and a rule action added as well.

Etienne Lemay: Hell yea!! Is there or will there be a hotkey for this?
Sven Cautaerts
Mailbutler offered the option. It was 1 of 3 features that convinced me to get a Mailbutler. Now with Missive 2 of them are already taken care of (recall mail & signature management) but I still miss the unsubscribe button. :-)

I do not think that this will add a real benefit Missive. We already have plenty of options:
- click on the unsubscribe link in the footer of the email (which is in 90% a one-click-unsubscribe-link).
- if that link is missing, mark the email as spam
- or create a new rule that auto-trashes emails from the sender
I do NOT want unsubscribe to be so simple, that I accidentally remove myself from a list without knowing it: a one-click-unsubscribe icon below the email or in a toolbar could be clicked accidentally. Usually, there is no notification email sent by the list, but only a goodbye message displayed in the browser after hitting the unsubscribe link - that message is the only confirmation the user can get, and is nothing I want to miss.
Unsubscribing this is something that cannot be undone by ctrl-Z, so it should not be managed by the email client.
TLDR I think the unsubscription process should not be made too simple, and is not the responsibility of the email client

Philipp Stracker: I agree with this. If the sender is malicious, then an unsubscribe won't help, and spam is a better option. If the unsubscribe button is deliberately made teeny-tiny, then also spam is a better way as that signals to email providers that there's a larger problem with the sender.

any updates? Doing a deepclean of my inbox this would help.

Is this not going to happen anymore?
Rob Di Toro
John Dwyer: Doesn't look like it... I'm currently using a 2nd mail client for one-click-unsub to fill the gap. Wish that wasn't the case!

Rob Di Toro: What do you use? Slowly falling out of love with Mis. I might check it out

Same with other clients, ie Mac Mail default client also tries to do this where possible. Would a really nice have and save time looking for tiny-near-invisible hidden links in the footers

Philippe Lehoux: what does this mean?

Philippe Lehoux: Does this mean it's being looked over? or worked on?

Same thing that Gmail gives you next to the FROM address

This would be fantastic. It's especially annoying to have to click on the very small and hard to read unsubscribe links in most mass mailings.
