Quick Email Actions (Workflows)
Jonathan Laukenmann
In Outlook there is this amazing feature that lets you create a Quick-Action that does multiple things for you.
A few useful examples:
- Forward the email to a specific address
- Move the email to a specific folder/tag (and mark it as read)
- reply with a standard response (possibly with placeholders for Name and Date etc.)
The idea being, that you push one button for things you do on a regular basis. As a bonus it could be implements such that you can trigger this action on multiple messages at once.
A specific example: I receive invoices all the time. To get them into a specific Google drive folder is forward them to a specific mail address that is being watched by Zapier. Right now I have to perform these steps:
- Click on Message
- Choose forward/reply
- Choose forward
- Type in mail adress
- press send
After Quick actions it could be:
- swipe on message
- choose quick actions menu
- choose “Upload Invoice”
Please vote for this! This could be amazing!

PS: these could even be quick actions in iOS and Android notifications... 🙀

Philippe Lehoux: Great idea, have to try this! Combined with favorite labels this could be it :)

This would be great to add, we're testing Missive but currently using Re:amaze. They have this function here that hopefully the Missive team can learn from: https://support.reamaze.com/kb/automation/setting-up-automation-workflows

I frequently am moving messages to one of a small number of folders. It takes multiple clicks now. This sort of quick action seems like it could make the repetitive task much faster.

Adam DuVander: yes i think so too. These actions could be simple or very complex. In any way, they could proof a big time saver
