We recently migrated from Slack to Missive and one of the capabilities our team misses most is the ability to start a thread on a specific message within a chat or conversation. In Slack, threading allowed us to have focused side discussions without cluttering the main channel — someone could reply directly to a particular message, and that thread would stay neatly attached to it while the broader conversation continued. In Missive, when we want to respond to a specific point in a busy chat, our reply gets lost in the main stream and it's difficult for others to see which message we're responding to. This is especially painful in team chats with 5+ people where multiple topics are being discussed simultaneously. Having the option to open a threaded reply on any message — visible as a collapsed thread others can expand and join — would dramatically improve our ability to keep conversations organized and reduce the noise that comes with consolidating all our comms into one platform.
